Hello,
I have the phenomena of seeing the number 424. I didn't realize I was the only one, who had a continuous recurring number, and it's a good feeling to know that others see recurring numbers as well. I want to learn why we see "our" number, and having the curiosity of learning what it means to each person.

May 2008

My son Matthew was home oh leave recently and dropped a small fridge on his ankle. He went to the emergency room to make sure no bone was broke, or chipped. I saw the bill today and fell back in my chair with disbelief, and I had to call 222 too tell her the bill total was $424.58. I just don't know what to make of this anymore. I want to think this is a lucky number, but it's starting to scare me.

I stopped at the store to purchase 2 bottles of pop and the total was $4.24 cents. I was so shocked the clerk just stood there looking at me with this look on her face. I guess she was surprised by my reaction of the total due $4.24. I went to add a song to my profile on My Space and the available date was 4-24-08. So, this is my theory it follows me, seeks me, and in circle for life. Now I sit at red lights waiting and I'll see some one's plates and try to see if I can connect it to me.

I have a cousin I have recently been in contact with from years past and I learned today her son's birthday is the same as mine, April 24th.

Story of 424

Numbers come from ancient times and there's a logical meaning and reason for everything. Is a number just a number?

My story began November 1994 when my mother died. She had cancer and was at the end of her time so I had her brought here  to my home in Elko, NV, from the hospital to die in peace. Then in the wee hours of the morning she expired. I sat with her and cried, and talked to her one last time face to face. I finally called the coroner's office to pick her up. When the coroner was pushing the gurney out the door I looked over to see what time it was and it was 4:24 AM. You may ask why that is so strange . . . it's because it's also my birthday April 24th. I'm thinking to myself is she sending me a sign? So, it all started from there.

I'm wondering does something dramatic happen in one's life on a certain day and then does it start from there. I don't think that can be true because my older daughter's number is 808 and nothing dramatic happened to her on that date. It's just a number she started seeing all the time. Like the rest of us you start seeing it on the digital clocks, car license plates, stickers, bank clocks. When she was pregnant she wasn't due until 8/22/05 (my son's birthday) and she kept saying I'm going to have this baby on 8/08 and I'll be damn she went into labor on 8/08 ended up having him on 8/09 but still. How could she predict that? My younger daughter has an OCD with 6's; she will avoid whatever she can if it has the number 6 in it. Like an apartment that was available once when she needed it badly it was #16, she said no unless she could turn the 6 upside down to a 9. She ended up getting something else #17. She has a problem with even numbers especially number 6, but only odd number she's okay with is 7. With her OCD she will count 7 times, knock 7 times, tabs the dash board 7 times when she sees something, etc….

Now I see 424 EVERYDAY and I'm not kidding. I look to see what time it is, it's 4:24 PM. In the middle of the night I'll wake up its 4:24 AM. I'll be driving past a bank and I see on their clocks they have outside its 4:24 PM, I see it on the job all day long and now my coworker sees it. And, she reminds me when she sees the number that somehow I passed it onto her! My other coworker is trying to convince me to think it's a good number not a bad number. Is it a cursed number or a blessed number? I just don't know......I do know that the number 424 and I follow each other as were a circle.

When I'm bowling I'll look at the score which I've seen on several occasions and it's 424. I'll say to my bowling buddy "there's my number" and she she'll say that's a good number!

I'll be driving and the exit I need ends up being 424 seriously what can the meaning behind all this be. It's not just a coincidence! I never thought about numbers, and, I don't think I am "programmed" to see this number. Just last week (8/10/07) I took the wrong turn and had to turn around. I ended up behind a truck waiting my turn, and I see this sticker on the tailgate that read "Call before you dig 123-424-1234. Today I had a phone message the prefix was 424.

I'll get to the bible later on in my story which my son Matthew who's a USN Sailor stationed in Japan pointed out to me. No, actually I'll ask him to write his discovery of my number 424 when he has the time.

One year not too long ago my friends and family went to the "Dunes" to spend the weekend and my birthday was that weekend. I asked them not to go because to me at the time April 24th (424) was a bad number. Something always bad, hurtful happens on my birthday. So, I get a call from my daughter that someone very close to me had been in a bad quad accident and thought their back was broken. In the dunes there is no hospital, so the person was driven 100 miles to hospital. I'm waiting at the hospital and to my horror I had to watch paramedics pull this person from the passenger side of a truck onto a stretcher that's made for a sitting position. I waited for hours to finally learn it wasn't broken but had injured his back.

One morning I woke up and when I opened my eyes I saw this lady with white hair beside my bed looking at me, I was scared at first and I looked over at the clock and it was 4:24 AM. She was gone in a flash and I laid there thinking WOW who was that, then I realized it was my mother. The last time I had seen her she had no hair. I then tried remembering everything I could because for some reason I had this feeling I would never see her again. I thought maybe she had finally passed through purgatory and was on her way to heaven. And that's where I hope to see her again. I haven't seen her since then either. I did hear someone say hello to me the other morning when I was getting ready for work with no one awake but me.

I'll add more to my story as I remember them. Today I needed a file and once again guess what the date the file was in? April 24th, 424! Not only was I born with it, it follows me, finds me, it's more than just a part of me, and I have a twin so it's x 2. What does it mean?? Update I see 424 in a lot of my files, and paper work. I try to ignore it but it appears so much through out the day, I've started to keep tally.
